Hand Rejuvenation Treatment

Are your hands showing premature signs of aging and dryness?

Over time, levels of the naturally occurring substance responsible for maintaining skin hydration, hyaluronic acid, reduce. For hands this means they can become thin, crepey and wrinkly with the texture becoming less smooth as the years go on. This can be successfully treated with Skin Boosters at Laser Skin Care.

What are Skin Boosters for hand rejuvenation?

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in our body and keeps our skin hydrated, soft and flexible. From the age of 28, we lose around 1% of the hyaluronic acid in our skin every year. The purpose of Skin Boosters are to add hyaluronic acid that has been lost and to restore skin quality.

Skin Boosters attract water and provide improved elasticity. Skin Boosters are stabilized to provide a long-lasting effect for up to 12 months, resulting in hydrated and smoother looking hands.

How do they work?

Skin Booster hand treatments infuse a thin layer of microdroplets of stabilized hyaluronic acid beneath the skin surface to provide long-term deep hydration from within. The treatments gradually build up your skin’s smoothness.

If you have dehydrated hands, or rough and aged skin on your hands, it’s often not enough to treat the skin on the outside. You need to restore hydration from within.

A typical treatment program for hands requires three sessions, 2 to 4 weeks apart. After these initial treatments, a maintenance treatment is usually recommended every 4 to 6 months.

The results last for up to 12 months after the initial treatment.

No, moisturising the surface of the skin with creams cannot replace the hyaluronic acid loss which is occurring over time. The solution is to restore the skins natural hydration where the loss is occurring through treatments such as Skin Boosters.

Restoring the skin’s composition takes time. This is not a quick-fix, but it can provide a result that isn’t attainable if you are only using hand creams. Skin Boosters for hands is a treatment program with three initial treatment sessions, 2-4 weeks apart, to gradually restore the skin. Thereafter, you only need maintenance treatments every 4-6 months to preserve younger looking hands.

A numbing cream may be applied to the area prior to the treatment.

If a cannula is used, local anaesthetic is used prior to the cannula being introduced into the skin.

There is local anaesthetic in the dermal filler.

Ice is always used to decrease pain and to reduce the risk of bruising. Patients usually tolerate this treatment well as they are numbed.

When it comes to Skin Booster treatments, the results are progressive: this means that changes in the skin condition are subtle and natural looking. While you are likely to see some benefits immediately, the full effect of the treatment may take up to 4 weeks.

You may initially experience some redness, swelling, pain or minor bruising around the treated area. This is temporary and should gradually subside over the next few days.
